FLORENCE, AL – The University of North Alabama will host the 2026 Sport Leadership Summit on May 11 in the Guillot University Center on the UNA campus. The one-day professional event is designed for high school coaches, athletic administrators, and sport professionals from across Alabama.
“Our goal is to equip coaches and administrators with tools they can apply immediately while creating meaningful connections across the sport industry,” said Mark Linder, Lecturer in the Sport and Recreation Management Program.
The Summit will provide attendees with valuable opportunities to enhance their leadership skills, expand professional networks, and gain practical strategies that can be applied within their programs. The event will feature breakout sessions, networking opportunities, and a vendor expo focused on supporting athletic programs and leadership development.
Featured guest speakers include Greg Byrne, Director of Athletics at the University of Alabama; and Dr. Josh Looney, UNA’s Director of Athletics. Both bring extensive experience in collegiate athletics and will share their insights on leadership, program development, and student-athlete success.
Participants earn up to six Continuing Education Units, or CEUs, or one Professional Learning Unit (PLU) through PowerSchool Professional Learning. Additional virtual requirements are needed to complete PLU certification. Registration is $125 and available here.
