UNA Homecoming Date Set; Alumni Award Nominations Open

FLORENCE, AL – Homecoming weekend at the University of North Alabama has been set for Oct. 11-12. Shine On, Gold has been selected as this year’s theme in honor of the ongoing comprehensive campaign to raise $100 million for the University.In addition to the regular schedule of festivities, including the football game, parade, and reunions, the third Homecoming Alumni Celebration will take place Oct. 11 at the Marriott Shoals Conference Center. The Lions will take on Abilene Christian University at Braly Stadium, with the kickoff time to be announced at a later date.
“Homecoming is such a special time of year,” said Justin “Bishop” Alexander, UNA’s Director of Alumni Relations at UNA. “On campus, student groups have the opportunity to participate in a variety of events and activities; UNA’s alumni and friends cap off the week with our annual celebration and full day of events. Homecoming just may be the best time to be a Lion!”
Alexander also said that nominations for 2024 alumni awards are open until May 31 and may be submitted at this link. Winners will be announced this summer. The categories are:

· Educators of the year – K-12 and Higher Education
· Staff Alumni Service
· Faculty Alumni Service
· Friend of the University
· Military Service
· Public Service
· Young Alumni
