Dan Hendricks Named Una Vice President For University Advancement

FLORENCE, Ala. - Dr. Dan Hendricks has been named the University of North Alabama's vice president for university advancement, Dr. William G. Cale Jr., UNA president, announced this morning. "Dr. Hendricks will bring to UNA an outstanding track record with university advancement programs," Cale said. "His experience, polish and enthusiasm will serve this institution and this community very well." As vice president for university advancement, Hendricks will head a university division responsible for alumni relations, major gifts, annual and planned gifts, corporate and foundation relations, and communications and marketing. He will begin his new role Oct. 15. "We were amazed by the University of North Alabama during our recent visit, and we were charmed by everyone we met," Hendricks said. "Throughout our visit, we thought of how wonderful it would be to serve a university of UNA's heritage and commitment to students. This is a perfect fit for us, and it's going to be a great opportunity." Hendricks and his wife, Barb, are moving to the Shoals from Saint John, Ind. Hendricks has previously served as vice chancellor for advancement at Purdue University at Calumet, executive director of the Western Illinois University Foundation and vice president for advancement and public services, vice president and chief development officer for the Louisiana State University Foundation, director and chief operations officer for The Campaign for University of Kentucky, and director of planned giving for Hanover College. Hendricks is a graduate of DePauw University and holds a master's degree and Ph.D. from Duke University.
