FLORENCE, AL – Sept. 30 has been set as the University of North Alabama Homecoming, with a weekend of activities that will culminate at 6 p.m. at Braly Stadium when the North Alabama Lions take on the Eastern Kentucky Colonels.

“Homecoming presents a wonderful opportunity for alumni of the University to return to campus and revisit the places and people that created a memorable and priceless student experience,” said Justin “Bishop” Alexander, UNA’s Director of Alumni Relations. “As we plan for and prepare for the events, a big part of Homecoming is celebrating the award winners, those individuals, as alumni or friends of the institution, who have gone on to do incredible things in their careers or in public service.”

The nominations are open for Homecoming awards and can be completed at this link. Award categories include:

  • Lifetime Achievement
  • Alumni of the Year
  • Friend of the University
  • Military Service
  • Public Service
  • Educator of the Year – K-12 and Higher Education
  • Community Service
  • Faculty Alumni Service
  • Staff Alumni Service
  • Young Alumni

In addition to the Homecoming awards, events will include the Athletics Hall of Fame ceremony, the parade through downtown Florence, Lunch on the Lawn at Rogers Hall, and the Lion Walk and Tailgate on Spirit Hill.

This year, 2023, also marks the 50th anniversary of several Greek organizations, both fraternities and sororities, on campus. The annual Alumni Celebration will honor the 50 years of individuals who have been members of Greek organizations at UNA. Greek organizations will also be honored as part of the half-time festivities, and they will have tailgating in the alumni pavilion.
