Una Fraternity Organizes Annual Charity Pageant In Honor Of Student

FLORENCE, Ala. - Kappa Sigma fraternity at the University of North Alabama will host its third-annual Miss South Seas charity pageant April 3 at 7 p.m. in the Guillot University performance center. The pageant will take place during the annual South Seas week and will be held in honor of Chad Silcox, an East Limestone resident and member of Kappa Sigma who died tragically last December in an accident that left severe burns on his body. A portion of the proceeds from the pageant will be distributed to the Chad Silcox Memorial Fund. Entertainment for the evening will include Miss UNA 2011 Brandi Lewis, Miss UNA 2012 Anne-Marie Hall and Miss South Seas 2011 Ann-Marie Russ. The emcee for the night will be Vice President for Student Affairs David Shields and the mistress of ceremonies will be reigning Miss Alabama winner Courtney Porter. Admission to the event is $5 for UNA students and $10 for the general public. Additional donations for the Chad Silcox Memorial Fund will be gladly accepted. The application fee is $25 and the deadline to enter the pageant is March 12.
