FLORENCE, Ala. — The Office of Career Planning and Development is holding its first-ever Dream Job Career Panel April 9 at 5 p.m. in the GUC performance center, where University of North Alabama alumni who are currently working their dream jobs will be speaking to students. The Dream Job Career Panel is being held in conjunction with National Student Employment Week April 8 to 14. The participating alumni panelists will include Jan Ingle, who graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Commercial Music, Rod Sheppard, the current principal of the Florence Freshman Center, Melody Stewart, an athletic development officer with UNA Athletics, and Jason Rich, a county executive in Wayne County, Tenn. Melissa Medlin, director of Career Planning and Development, said that this event is the first of its kind at UNA. "This is a first-time effort," she said. "We hope to have a number of students attend because it is always encouraging to hear the success of others, especially the success of UNA alumni." Medlin said she hopes that the profiling of UNA graduates during the career panel will help motivate upcoming graduates by seeing the similarities between the professionals and the students themselves.
