'looking For Leo' Book Now Available For Leo, Una Fans

FLORENCE, Ala. -- "Looking for Leo," a children's book created for friends of the lions by friends of the lions, is now available as a hardcover edition for $10 each. Written by Dalen Keys, the book's proceeds will help support the lions and George H. Carroll Lion Habitat. Those who wish to obtain a copy of "Looking for Leo" may pre-order through the on-campus Follett Bookstore or attend a book signing. Book signings are scheduled April 20 at 10 a.m. at Follett Bookstore and April 21 at 3 p.m. at Books-A-Million in Florence. Books will also be available for signing and purchase at Leo and Una's birthday party April 23 at 10 a.m. on campus where Keys and Vandiver are scheduled to present. There will also be a reading of "Looking for Leo" at Kilby School April 20 at 1 p.m. Keys graduated from UNA in 1980 with a bachelor's degree in chemistry and later received his Ph.D. in chemistry from Rice University. "Looking for Leo" was illustrated by Walt Vandiver, who also graduated from UNA in 2001 with a degree in art and later moved to Florida where he worked for Disney as a character and graphic designer. Vandiver currently resides in Florence where he works as an illustrator and graphic designer.
