University Of North Alabama Welcomes Author Amy Purdy For Distinguished Event Series

FLORENCE, Ala.-New York Times Best Selling author and Paralympian Amy Purdy will be the featured speaker for the University of North Alabama 2018 Distinguished Event Series.
The event will take place Oct. 16, at 7 p.m., in Norton Auditorium on UNA's campus.
Purdy, who is also an actress, model and motivational speaker, is probably best known for her book,On My Own Two Feet, which is listed as a New York Times Best Seller.
Purdy is a double amputee who lost both legs at the age of 19 after contracting a form of bacterial meningitis. Shortly after receiving her prosthetic legs, Purdy began snowboarding, which eventually led to a World Cup in Parasnowboard.
Purdy has since been a presenter at both TEDx and Pop Tech, participated on ABC's Dancing With The Stars, CBS's The Amazing Race, and Oprah's The Life You Want Tour.
