University Of North Alabama Rotc Hosting Events In Remembrance Of Sept. 11

FLORENCE, Ala.-The University of North Alabama ROTC program is hosting several activities in remembrance of Sept. 11.
The Memorial Physical Training Event, which features cadets and local first responders running 2,996 steps at Braly Stadium, in remembrance of each American killed during the Sept. 11 attack, is from 5:45 a.m. - 7 a.m.
A memorial ceremony will take place in the UNA Amphitheater from 8:30 a.m. - 9 a.m., and will feature a chaplain from an area fire department to provide the Invocation. The featured keynote speaker is UNA graduate, current faculty and Army Veteran, retired Col. Rae Atencio.
In addition, UNA ROTC cadets will run continuously with the American flag through campus and downtown Florence, from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m., as a visual reminder of 9/11 and the global war on terrorism.
