New head coach appearing at UNA alumni events in Birmingham, Montgomery and Decatur

FLORENCE, Ala. - New University of North Alabama head football coach Terry Bowden is making a three-day sweep through the state of Alabama May 11-13, with appearances at alumni functions in three cities. At each stop, Bowden will speak and visit with guests at a UNA-hosted scholarship dinner or breakfast. His appearances include:

  • The Greater Birmingham Area (Jefferson and Shelby counties) Scholarship Dinner, 7 p.m. May 11 at The Club
  • The Greater Montgomery Area (Southeast Alabama) Scholarship Dinner, 7 p.m. May 12 at the RSA Activities Center
  • The Decatur/Morgan County Scholarship Breakfast, 7 a.m. May 13 at the Decatur Country Club
"This is a grass-roots effort by alumni in each of these cities to help provide scholarship funds for students in their areas," said Carol Lyles, UNA director of alumni relations. Bowden will be joined by the UNA Jazz Combo and vocalist Coleen Burns for the events in Birmingham and Montgomery. In addition to his successful coaching career, Bowden has earned acclaim as a motivational speaker and a college football television and radio analyst. He graduated Magna Cum Laude with a degree in accounting from West Virginia University. He has also earned a Juris Doctorate from the Florida State University School of Law.
