Carole Maynard, UNA Department of Music FLORENCE, Ala. - The Shoals Symphony at UNA will celebrate the season with Home for the Holidays on Sunday, Dec. 11, at 3 p.m., in Norton Auditorium on the UNA campus. The holiday concert has become an annual favorite in the Shoals. "As families choose annual holiday traditions," Dr. Daniel Stevens, conductor and music director of the symphony, said, "we are sincerely blessed to be a part of the genuine spirit of peace and joy for many in the Shoals." The UNA Choirs, under the direction of Dr. Ian Loeppky, will once again join the symphony for the holiday spectacular. "We always enjoy and look forward to collaborating with the UNA Choirs," said Stevens. "This year they will be heard in a number of configurations throughout the performance hall." The program for the concert will include traditional holiday favorites such as "O Holy Night" and the Concert Suite from "The Polar Express," as well as a few new pieces to enjoy. "Every holiday concert is filled with songs close to the heart that inspire memories of simpler times and draw members of the family together," Stevens said. "We hope to inspire love and happiness. The audience can sit back and enjoy the festive setting, holiday lights, carols of the season and a few surprises!" Tickets range from $16 - $24 for adults, and $7 for students and children (12 and under). Tickets are available at shoalssymphony.una.edu and at the Lindsey Theatre Box Office, MWF, 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. For more information: (256) 765-5122.
