FLORENCE, AL – Yung Gravy, and American rapper known for his hits “Betty” and “Mr. Clean,” will be the featured performer at the University of North Alabama 2023 Spring Concert on April 20, in the CB&S Bank Arena at Flowers Hall.
“We chose Yung Gravy as our 2023 Spring Concert artist because of the engaging atmosphere he creates with the crowd,” said Mallory Campbell, University Program Council Productions Promoter. “We had heard from many students who went to his shows that he was super-energetic, and that they all wanted to go back. Thus, Yung Gravy quickly became a front-runner in our pursuit of a Spring Concert artist.”
Bold Bloom and Sarah Cothran are set to appear as opening acts before Yung Gravy takes the stage. The Spring Concert has become a much-anticipated tradition at UNA, according to Campbell.
“The Spring Concert is a fun tradition at UNA because it’s an event that students look forward to, whether that’s from the announcement of the Spring Concert, to the concert itself, " she said. “It is a fun time to spend with friends and an engaging way to celebrate the end of the school year and start of summer.”
Planning for the Spring Concert begins long before performers are booked and advertised, or any tickets sold.
“Since September of 2022, the University Program Council has been diligent in pursuing a spring concert artist under the leadership of Production Promoter, Ms. Mallory Campbell,” said Becca Bush, Coordinator of Student Activities. “During the fall, Mallory sought out student insight and the one name we consistently heard was Yung Gravy. Therefore, we are thrilled to be able to fulfill this request and bring such a well-known artist to campus.”
The show will begin at 7 p.m., and doors will open at 6 p.m. A limited number of free student tickets are still available, and tickets for the general public are $30 and are available at this link.
