FLORENCE, AL – The Sunseri Speaker Series at the University of North Alabama will feature Chef Lisa Ramsey, who will deliver a presentation titled “How Science, Music, and Art Influence the Culinary World.” The event will take place March 19 at 6 p.m. in the Performance Center of the Guillot University Center on the UNA campus.

“At the heart of the College of Arts, Sciences, and Engineering, where the fusion of disciplines lights a path to discovery, the Sunseri Speaker Series shines as a beacon of inspiration, fusing the realms of arts and sciences,” said Dr. Ryan Zayac, Interim Dean of the College. “Made possible by the generous donation of UNA alumnus David Sunseri, in loving memory of his sister, Jennifer Leigh Sunseri, the series transcends academic boundaries.”

Chef Ramsey is known for her innovative approach to cuisine, seamlessly blending scientific methods, musical rhythm, and artistic flair into her culinary creations. This talk promises to be an enlightening exploration of the interconnectivity between disciplines, illustrating how they collectively inspire and elevate the culinary arts. Chef Ramsey’s unique perspective is not only a testament to her mastery in the kitchen but also her belief in the transformative power of creativity and interdisciplinary learning.

The event is free and open to the public. A reception featuring one of Chef Ramsey’s creations will follow the presentation.
