FLORENCE, AL – Almost one year into the public phase of the Shine On, Gold comprehensive campaign, with a goal to raise $100 million for the University of North Alabama, signs and banners have been placed throughout campus as well as along Court Street in downtown Florence as a reminder of the significance of the campaign as well as to encourage others to learn more.

“I am amazed by the vision and overwhelming generosity of our alumni and friends in the Shoals community,” said Kevin Haslam, Vice President for University Advancement and Executive Director of the UNA Foundation. “Because of these special people, we are accomplishing transformational things that will impact north Alabama for generations. These signs and banners help us all remember that this is a special time at UNA and that every gift and every giver matters. It is our time to shine!”

The Shine On, Gold comprehensive campaign was officially launched Sept. 29, 2023, during the UNA Homecoming celebration. The ambitious goal is historic in nature and includes a number of priorities, including a Music Performance Center, Bank Independent Stadium, the 1830 Fund, the Presidential Scholars Program, Student Scholarships, and Donor-Directed Purposes.

The signs and banners are on the lightposts in downtown Florence as well as lightposts on campus, on Collier Library, as well as on Cramer Way. They include the website where anyone can go to learn more about ways to give to this significant and historic endeavor.
