Una's Entertainment Industry To Host Music Business Panels With Grammy Winners And Nominees

FLORENCE, Ala. - The Department of Entertainment Industry at the University of North Alabama will host two music business panels, Tuesday, Nov. 11, beginning at 4:30 p.m., at The Mane Room, 122 W. Tombigbee St., Florence. The event is free and open to the public.
The first panel includes panelists John Paul White and Ben Tanner. White is a multi- award winning Grammy artist and was part of the duo The Civil Wars. He has also received numerous awards for his songwriting efforts.
Joining White will be Ben Tanner, who currently serves as the keyboard player for the Alabama Shakes, and whose debut LP "Boys and Girls" earned the group a gold record and a Grammy nomination. White and Tanner, along with Florence resident Will Trapp, have also formed Single Lock Records.
The second panel will begin at 6 p.m., and includes panelists Nate Lowery and Aaron Rice. Lowery is a Florence native and GM/VP of Creative for Cornman Music in Nashville, which publishes works by Grammy award winning songwriter/producer Brett James.
The second panel will also include Grammy/Dove Award nominee Aaron Rice, who is a songwriter/producer for Daywind Music in Nashville. Rice has had songs recorded by TobyMac, Mandisa, Johnny Swim, Jaci Velasquez, Rachael Lampa, Hawk Nelson and others.
