How do I get started in Canvas?

You can log in to Canvas by going to https://una.instructure.com, following the Canvas link on the UNA website, or using the Mobile App. If you aren't sure how to start, take a look at the Canvas Resources (Orientation Course, Guides, Video Guides, Community Forums) and common issues below. If you need technical support, submit a help ticket in Canvas by going to the Help menu, then Report a Problem. UNA Canvas support should reply within one business day. Please note that you will receive support responses at your UNA email address, not inside Canvas. Correspondence received during university closures, holidays, and weekends may not be addressed until the next regularly scheduled business day at UNA.

Canvas Studio: Recording and Submitting Videos?

• From a computer

  • How do I record a screen capture video?
  • How do I record a webcam video?  If you have trouble using this, you can try using the screen capture option, then picking the webcam option before recording.

• From a Mobile Device

  • Currently, the Student App will not upload into a Discussion.  Students can use their mobile device to record and upload into Studio, then use a PC to add the Studio video to a discussion post.
• Troubleshooting on a Mac
  • Try using a different browser, such as Chrome or Firefox
  • On your computer, if you are using the "Webcam" option, try the "Screen Recorder" option instead.  You can pick to use only the webcam once it opens.
  • Try Checking your permissions for the Screen Recorder app and  Chrome or Firefox (whichever Browser you are using).  You may need to restart Chrome or Firefox after you do this. Control access to screen recording on Mac
  • Check to see if your macOS has or needs updates

Using Office 365 and OneDrive with Canvas

As a UNA student, you have access to Office 365 and OneDrive. You can use both within Canvas.
