Medical Insurance

This page applies only to International Students at the University of North Alabama. No other UNA students are eligible.

  1. Health insurance is required for ALL international students on a F-1 or J-1 visa as well as all J-2 dependents and J-1 exchange visitors in non-student categories.
  2. F-2 dependents are eligible to enroll at the price show below; however, insurance is not required for F-2 visa holders.
  3. F-1 students on post-completion OPT are encouraged to continue health insurance, but it is not required.
  4. Health insurance fees will be automatically charged each semester to the student account at the time of class registration. 
    1. Fall semester charges cover 5 months (August 1 through December 31).
    2. Spring semester charges cover 7 months (January 1 through July 31).
  5. The insurance fee and benefits may vary from year to year.
  6. The insurance fees are charged by policy open enrollment period and is non-refundable.

This policy has an annual deductible of $250.00
