A non-refundable application fee of one hundred dollars ($100) is required of every international applicant. Include an international money order or U.S. check made payable to the University of North Alabama or fill out the payment with credit card section in the application form. No wire transfers or application fee waivers.

Applicants should submit the Summary of Student's Funding and Sponsorship form along with supporting documents. This is required for the University of North Alabama to issue a Form I-20 or DS-2019 for the student to apply for a student visa and study in the USA. 

1. Financial statements must be in English or include an English translation.
2. Financial statements must be a clear and legible original document or unaltered scan of the original document.
3. Each statement must include the name of the financial institution, the name of the account holder, the account number, the amount of available funds, the currency type of those funds and a date within six months.
4. A letter on official stationary, must be submitted from a bank or other financial institution where the student or sponsor has accounts containing readily available funds, for example, savings accounts or investment accounts.
5. Pension, retirement, and mortgage funds, income tax statements or returns, proof of property ownership, and letters stating that the student or the sponsor possesses “sufficient financial resources” or “earns enough” are NOT acceptable as evidence of readily available funds.
6. If the financial statements are from a privately-owned business, the sponsor must have legal authority to spend business funds for personal discretion. A document showing legal authority over the business must be included with other documents.
7. If the sponsor is residing in the United States, a Form I-134 should also be submitted.

Language Proficiency

Language proficiency is a required of all international students. This requirement can be met in two ways: through a test score from a recognized agency or through UNA's English as a Second Language Program.

Academic Placement

For U.S. students, UNA uses ACT or SAT scores for advising and registration purposes, but international students are not required to submit any of these tests for admissions. Students without official scores of ACT or SAT reported to UNA will take UNA's Academic Placement Test before registering for any classes. If available, original test scores should be sent directly to UNA. UNA's School Code for Act is 0014 and for SAT is 1735.

If you have taken any of the following, all official test scores must be sent to UNA directly from the testing centers.
