News and Events

This year has been an exciting year for the Interior Design Program at the University of North Alabama. The following list some of the advancements for the program:

  • The completion of the new Drafting and Design Studio
  • New offices for the design faculty
  • Renovation of THE GALLERY, the student lounge and conferencing area.
  • New computers for the CAD Studio/lab.
  • New 12 color, 42” Photo quality plotter.
  • First accreditation of the design program by the National Association of Schools of Art and Design (NASAD).
  • Re-accreditation of the design program by the National Kitchen and Bath Association (NKBA).
  • Student entries in the NKBA National Design Competition.
  • Student entries in the NKBA/GE Design Charette.
  • State NKBA meeting on campus with national officer as speaker.
  • Student design work featured at the UNA/Connie D. McKinney Department of Human Sciences, Hospitality, and Design Culinary Center.
  • Student participation in the Tennessee Valley Arts Association Christmas Tree Designs, our theme – THE “ART OF THE HOME.”
  • Mr. Patel attended the Autodesk Viz 2008 workshop in Baltimore, MD.
