New Content Blocks

With the new Content Blocks within the Cascade Server you can now add and maintain Accordions, Tabs, Lists, or Panels. These new features can be confusing at first, but with the help of these how-to's you will be on your way! Below are some general steps to take to set up your own Accordion, Tabs, etc. If you would like to read a specific how-to just click on the tab titled with the type of content block you would like to use!

Step 1: Go to the page you would like to edit.

Step 2: Select the edit tab on that page.

Step 3: Scroll down to the Main Content section in the editor of the selected page.

Step 4: Look for the section labeled "Main Content >> Content Block". This is where the new content blocks are going to be located.

Step 5: Select which Content Block you would like to use. You have the options of either an Accordion, Tabs, List, or a Panel.

From here go to the Tab that has the one you would like to use to learn more about that specific Content Block!

*Note: You can have multiple instances of each Content Block

Accordion How-To:

Step 1: Go to the page you would like to edit.

Step 2: Select the Edit tab on the page you are wanting to edit.

Step 3: Scroll down to the Main Content. Look for the section labeled "Main Content >> Content Block". This is where the Accordion option for the main content will be located.

Step 4: Select the Accordion option under "Main Content >> Content Block".

Step 5: (Optional) Give the Accordion Main Content a title just like you would for the Standard Main Content. This is Optional.

Step 6: Since you are using an Accordion you probably have more than one section in the Accordion Block you would like to add. You can do this by clicking the Green '+' icon in the section labeled "Main Content >> Content Block >> Accordion Block". To remove a section just click the red '-' icon.

Step 7: Give your Accordion Sections titles and add some content to the bodies of those sections. The content is not limited to just text you can have images and videos as well!

Step 8: When you are done making changes be sure to submit the page.

Step 9: When you have submitted your page and are satisfied with the changes be sure to publish the page so the changes will be on the live server.

*Side Note: You can use an Accordion in the Right Column just follow Steps 3-7 but in the Right Column section instead of the Main Content section.

Tabs How-to:

Step 1: Go to the page you would like to edit.

Step 2: Go to the edit tab of the page you are going to edit.

Step 3: Scroll down to the Main Content area and look for the section labeled "Main Content >> Content Block" This is where the Tabs option for the main content will be located.

Step 4: Select the Tabs option under "Main Content >> Content Block".

Step 5: (Optional) Give the Tabs in your main content a title like you would for the standard Main Content. The title is optional.

Step 6: Since you are using the Tabs option you may have multiple sections you would like to add. You can add sections of tabs by clicking the green '+' icon and you can delete tab sections by clicking the red '-' icon. Make sure you are under "Main Content >> Content Block >> Tab Block", so you won't add multiple Main Content Blocks instead of adding Tab Blocks.

Step 7: Give your Tabs titles and add some content to their bodies. The content is not limited to just text you can have videos and images in the bodies of your tabs!

Step 8: When you have finished making changes be sure to submit the page.

Step 9: When you are satisfied with your changes to your page, be sure to publish it to the live server to see the changes on the live website.

*Side Note: You can use tabs in the right column but be mindful if you use more than two tabs since there will be wrapping issues with the titles. You may encounter this with long tab titles as well. To add them to your right column on your page just go to the right column and follow steps 3-7. 

Panels How-to:

Step 1: Go to the page you would like to edit.

Step 2: Go to the page editor of the page you are wanting to edit.

Step 3: Scroll down to the Main Content area and look for the section labeled "Main Content >> Content Block". 

Step 4: Select the Panel option from the list of option for the Content Block

Step 5: If you want multiple Panels on your page click the green '+' icon under the section labeled "Main Content >> Content Block >> Panel Block", to remove a Panel just click the red '-' icon.

Step 6: (Optional) You can add a title to the new content blocks like you can for the Standard Main Content but this is optional.

Step 7: Add some titles and content to your Panel(s). The content is not limited to just text you can have images as well as videos in the body of your panel(s) as well!

Step 8: Submit your changes you have made whne you are done.

Step 9: When you are satisfied with your changes be sure to publish you rpage to the live server to see your changes live.

*Side Note: You can add panels to your right column just follow steps 3-7 under the Right Column Section instead of Main Content.

Lists How-to

Step 1:Go to the page you would like to edit.

Step 2: Select the Edit tab of the page you are wanting to edit.

Step 3: Scroll down to the Main Content and look for the section labeled "Main Content >> Content Block". 

Step 4: On the Content Type select the List option. 

Step 5: (Optional) You can give your main content block a title. This is an optional choice.

Step 6: Give your list item a title and a type. The link types are either Internal (Within Cascade), External (A website that is not in Cascade), or a File (PDFs, Word Documents, etc.)

Step 7: you can add more list items by clicking the green '+' icon under the section labeled "Main Content >> Content Block >> List Block". you can remove a list item by clicking the red '-' icon.

Step 8: When you are finished making changes to the page be sure to click 'Submit'. 

Step 9: When you are satisfied with your changes be sure to publish the page to the live server.
