Get to Know a Little More About Our Panelists
Jaleesa Wilhelmenia Escott is currently studying as a graduate student at the University of North Alabama in the area of vocal-choral education. Ms. Escott, also works at UNA's Kilby Laboratory School as their music and theater director. In her spare time Ms. Escott likes spending time with her dog, Gustavo and working with her community poetry group Refugee Verses. |
Maeve Eubanks is a sophomore at the University of North Alabama majoring in fine arts with a concentration in painting. She is a native of Florence, having graduated from Florence High School in 2020. Eubanks is also a member of Phi Mu fraternity, Student Alumni Association, and serves as the Communications Director for the Student Government Association. After graduation, she hopes to sell her work and travel the country for various art shows. When not living on campus, she lives at home with her mom, sister Ally, and two rescue pups, Olive and Martini. |
Gabrielle Orlayna Fuqua is a native of Florence, Alabama. Gabrielle is a recent graduate of the University of Kentucky where she received her Master’s Degree in Voice Performance (2020). Gabrielle is also an alum of the University of North Alabama where she received her Bachelor’s Degree in Vocal Performance (2017). Gabrielle is a crossover artist and has been fortunate to perform in operatic roles such as ‘Mary Warren’ in Ward’s The Crucible, ‘La Zelatrice’ in Puccini’s Suor Angelica, ‘Mimí’ in Puccini’s La bohëme, ‘Juliette’ in Gounod’s Romeo et Juliette, ‘Baker’s Wife’ in Sondheim’s Into the Woods, ‘Cathy’ in Brown’s The Last Five Years, and many more. Gabrielle has also received multiple awards from The National Association of Teachers of Singing; recently, they were awarded the Gina Scaggs Epifano award for Overall Outstanding Artistic Performance as well as placing 1st in both classical and musical theatre categories at Kentucky NATS 2019. In June of 2020, pre-pandemic, Gabrielle was offered choral roles in Cincinnati Opera’s productions of Rusalka and Aida. Gabrielle is currently serving on the University of North Alabama Department of Music Faculty as an adjunct professor of applied voice |
A 25-year professional Broadcaster, M. Fletcher Brown is the Operations Manager for Big River Broadcasting, as well as the Program Director and Afternoon Drive personality for WXFL - KIX96 96.1FM. A 1998 Graduate of The University of North Alabama with a degree in Theatre and Communications. WXFL-FM has multiple nominations for Small Market Station of the Year by both the Academy of Country Music and The Country Music Association, as well as named Radio Station of The Year three times by The Alabama Broadcasters Association. He's an ACM Small Market Personality of The Year nominee, four-time ABA Personality of The Year, and named one of the Best Program Directors in Country by Radio Ink Magazine every year for the past decade, as well as being listed 6 times as one of Radio Ink's list of Top PD's in The Country (U.S.A.) |
Katelin Patricia, “K. P.” Whisenant is thrilled to be a panelist for I2E2! K. P. is a sophomore majoring in Cinematic Arts and Theatre, concentrating in both Film Production and Acting with minors in Apparel Design and Digital Marketing. She serves on the SOTA Student Leaders Board and is the host of the SOTA Pop Podcast! K. P. aspires to someday be a writer for films, television, and theatre and loves SOTA for all the opportunities to do what she loves! |
