Tuesdays from11:00am-12:00pm
Wednesdays from 11:00am-2:00pm
Thursday from11:00am-12:00pm
Fridays from 12:00pm-2:00pm
Appointments must be made at least one day in advance so that you will be guaranteed time to meet with someone who is prepared and qualified to help with your particular math course.
When should I come in?
For face-to-face appointments, you should walk into CPTMTH 376 (third floor in the new Computing and Mathematics Building) a few minutes before your scheduled appointment time. Your Mathematics Tutor will check you in at the MLC at the beginning of your appointment.
For online appointments, your Mathematics Tutor will check you into your appointment when you join the zoom link.
Mathematics is a skill like any other and must be practiced; therefore we recommend that you do NOT wait until the last minute to schedule an appointment. Take advantage of this free service that can be an invaluable part of your UNA experience.
What do I need to bring with me when I come?
You should come prepared with the same items you need for your mathematics class: pencil, paper, notes from class, textbook (or MML login information), and calculator.
Do I need to have an appointment?
Only to guarantee time with someone who is prepared and qualified to help with your particular math course. Otherwise, tutors may already be working with other students. To schedule a 30-minute appointment in the MLC, you may use the TutorTrac scheduling system at http://tutortrac.una.edu or by calling the Math Learning Center (256) 765-4213. If you need more than half an hour with a tutor, you can schedule up to 3 consecutive appointments in a row (for a total of 1.5 hours with one tutor).
How much does it cost?
All Mathematics Learning Center services are **free** to currently enrolled students of UNA.
Who should I ask for when I go to the Mathematics Learning Center?
When you make an appointment with the MLC, you will be able to choose one of the math tutors who is available during the best time for you. You will meet your math tutor in the Mathematics Learning Center (CPTMTH 376). You can find out more about the math tutors on the MLC Tutors page.
