National Trail of Tears Curriculum
The National Trails of Tears Association, along with the US Parks Service, commemorates and educates on the forced removal of Native Americans from the Southeastern United States after the Indian Removal Act of 1830.
The University of North Alabama, in partnership with the National Trail of Tears Association, will develop curricular materials for students in all levels of education from pre-school to post-secondary on the events of the removal, the results and the links to other forced migrations in human history. The project intends to provide materials in all curricular areas from history to science, the arts to geography.
