Credit Card Convenience Fee
The University of North Alabama is committed to providing a range of payment options to students, including the acceptance of debit and credit cards. The University has historically absorbed the costs associated with debit and credit card transactions; however, after careful evaluation and consideration it has been determined that merchant fees associated with processing these type of transactions for student account payments have become prohibitively expensive.
Effective Monday, December 4, 2023, a non-refundable debit/credit convenience fee of 2.85% (minimum fee of $3) will be added to any tuition, fee, room and board payment made by debit or credit card. This is not a university fee, and UNA does not receive any portion of the credit card convenience fee. The non-refundable convenience fee is determined and assessed by our third-party payment processor, TouchNet. This fee will appear as a separate charge on your bank statement.
Beginning December 4, 2023, TouchNet's debit/credit card convenience fee (2.85%) will be added to the cost of any tuition, fee, room and board payment made with a credit or debit card. Families choosing to use credit or debit cards for tuition payments at a majority of private and public colleges/institutions, pay convenience fees for the opportunity of using their credit or debit card.
Beginning August 1, 2024, TouchNet's credit card convenience fee will increase to 2.95%.
UNA continues to offer several user-friendly methods of paying tuition for those who choose not to use a credit or debit card, which include check, e-check and cash. These payments carry no additional fees.
