Conversation Partners meets twice each week during the semester. Students meet in the Global Lions Den in Powers Hall to talk while playing cards or board games. Sometimes there are special events like pumpkin carving or decorating gingerbread house. Conversations help students in the Academic English Program (AEP) practice informal English, but more importantly, it is a wonderful opportunity to meet people and build lasting relationships.
Purpose? Help AEP students improve their conversational English, give an opportunity to share your culture and learn another, and encourage international students to get involved in campus life.
When? Tuesdays and Thursdays, 3:00-4:00 PM
Where? Powers Hall
Who do I contact for information? Please contact the Academic English Program at international@una.edu or call the Office of International Affairs at (256) 765-4626 for information regarding Conversation Partners.
Participation in Conversation Partners can be counted as community/volunteer service and added to resume and experience.
