Praxis Information

    • *Note: Not detailed on the linked ETS site is the exception for Alternative Class A students unconditional admission detailed in Item 1 of the Alabama State Department of Education (ALSDE) memorandum issued on April 17th, 2019 (linked here). Following is a link which details the alternate score requirements for Alt A students who qualify for the exception of unconditional admission discussed in Item 1 on the April 17th, 2019 memorandum.

Praxis Core Academic Skills for Educators

The Praxis Core Academic Skills for Educators assessments are required for admissions to TEP (undergraduate students).

  • Administered through Educational Testing Services (ETS), the Praxis Core is a computer-based assessment offered at approved sites (including UNA’s Testing Center) throughout the year.
  • Go to https://www.ets.org/praxis/about/core/ for information regarding the test and to view study materials.
  • Referred to as the Praxis Core (Exam Code 5752), this assessment consists of three subtests (Reading, Writing, and Mathematics).
  • To register for the full Praxis Core exam or a subtest of the Praxis Core, go to www.ets.org/praxis/register/ or call Praxis Series Customer Service: 1-800-772-9476.
  • Score reports must be sent to UNA (Code 1735) and to the Alabama State Department of Education (Code 7020) directly from ETS.
  • Please make sure you register using the exact name on your Driver's License.


Praxis Subject Assessments

  • Educator Preparation candidates must pass all PRAXIS Subject Assessments required for their area of certification before student internship.
  • Go to www.ets.org/praxis/about/subject and www.ets.org/praxis/about/subject/content for information regarding test preparation and to view study materials.
  • To register for a PRAXIS Subject Assessment exam, go to www.ets.org/praxis/register/ or call Praxis Series Customer Service: 1-800-772-9476.
  • Score reports must be sent to UNA (Code 1735) and to the Alabama State Department of Education (Code 7020) directly from ETS.
  • Please make sure you register using the exact name on your Driver's License.

PRAXIS tests are delivered ON UNA's campus multiple times each semester. For information on upcoming testing dates you may visit University Testing Services, or contact Ms. Kenda Rusevlyan at 256-765-4722 or khrusevlyan@una.edu.


Educator Preparation candidates are responsible for having exam score reports sent to UNA and the ALSDE. If you do not request a score report for these recipients, it will cost you an additional $40 fee with ETS to send at a later date.
Request that your score report be sent to UNA 1735 and AL State Department 7020.
