This festival was truly a unique and wonderful experience. I had read previous positive reviews so I was excited but didn't know what to expect. Ultimately this festival was supportive and thoughtfully run. The town was a historical jewel box brimming with musical history and almost felt like a living museum. There was such a great selection of films, it felt like a true cinematic discovery. The festival team was extremely communicative and supportive and went the extra mile to make sure we felt welcome. My colleagues and I had an absolute blast at this festival! It was totally worth the cost of travel and submission for us. The town is lovely. Small, charming, plenty of great spots to hang out and there’s a lot of legit live music nightly. The festival is run by the most hospitable group. They will go well out of their way to make you welcome. The quality of films was very strong. We were honored to screen alongside these filmmakers. The George Lindsey UNA Film Festival is one of the greatest festivals I have ever witnessed. It is small but therefor really a filmmaker’s festival. They invited al the selected filmmakers and every screening had a very interesting conversation afterwards. For me it was extra special since it was my first trip to the United Atates! Cynthia and the rest of the organization are extremely friendly and I recommend the festival to everyone who wants to witness real southern hospitality! - Marnix Ruben (Netherlands)
