Registration
Registration is now open. Please click here to go to the registration page. The registration fee of $30 includes dinner on Friday evening for the social event, Origami supplies, breakfast, lunch and snacks on Saturday, as well as a unique 3D printed gift for the speakers.
Lodging
A block of rooms have been reserved at the Hampton Inn Downtown Florence, located in downtown Florence about one mile from campus. Please call 256-767-8282 to reserve, and tell them you are with the Kappa Mu Epsilon Conference. The rate for a two queen room is $139 plus tax. Please book by April 8 to get this rate.
The Hampton Inn - Midtown is about 3 miles from campus, and may have a lower rate directly through their website. There is also a Comfort Suites and Holiday Inn on the edge of town, about 4 miles (10 minutes) from campus.
Directions and Location
Friday evening's activities will take place in the Mitchell Burford Science and Technology Building, First Floor, Room 136. Look for signs. From the main entry, you will need to take the elevator down one floor, or use the stairs located on either far side of the building. Parking information will be posted closer to the event.
Saturday's activities will take place on the first floor of the Stevens Hall Building. Registration will be in the lobby. Parking information will be posted closer to the event.
Abstract Submission
Students can submit their abstract via email, along with a short note from their advisor verifying that their work will be completed by that time, to Dr. Miranda Bowie at mbowie(at)una.edu. (Clearly that (at) is an @). Abstracts submission deadline is April 8. We do not anticipate judging talks this year, but all speakers will receive a 3D Printed Pi Pencil Cup as a thank you for speaking, as well as a certificate. See the Call for Papers here. Schedule
The schedule will be available the week of the event. However, tentatively, we expect the social event on Friday evening to run from 5-8, and Saturday to run from 8:30 - 3:00 and include student talks, a plenary speaker, a careers panel, and lunch.
