HRL Lock Change Process

You can find information on the university housing lock change process below. Your safety and security are our top priorities. Please review the following information regarding lost keys and lock change procedures.

Reporting Lost Keys:

If you lose your keys, it is crucial to report the loss immediately to Housing & Residence Life. Prompt reporting helps maintain the security of our residential community.

Lock Change Fees:

To ensure the security of our residences, the following lock change fees will apply:

• Residence Halls:
  • Lock Change: $100
• Apartments:
  • Mailbox Key: $40
  • Bedroom Key: $40
  • Front Door Key: $80

Billing Information:

Lock change charges will be applied directly to your student account. Please ensure timely payment in accordance with the university’s billing schedule. To make an online payment, click HERE for the Office of Student Accounts.

Additional Notes:

• If keys are found after a lock change has been completed, the charges will still apply as the change would have already been executed for security reasons.
• To help prevent lost keys, we encourage you to keep them in a secure place and to report any suspicious activity to Housing & Residence Life immediately.
