Dr. Ravi P. Gollapalli joined the Department of Engineering and Industrial Professions at the University of North Alabama in the Fall of 2017. Dr. Gollapalli’s unique education includes a background in Electrical Engineering and Optics, research expertise in Signal and Image Processing, Pattern Recognition Analysis for Remote Sensing, and applications of Femtosecond Lasers. Dr. Gollapalli earned his Ph.D. from the University of Alabama in Huntsville and has published research in 6 peer-reviewed international journals and 13 peer-reviewed conference proceedings/presentations, and a book chapter. In addition, he has experience in experimental work and numerical simulations and analysis, supported signal processing of data from an impedance probe launched on board the NASA SOUND rocket, simulated femtosecond laser pulse propagation in materials, fabricated nano structures on glass and Si substrates using micro/nano fabrication processes, built an optical amplifier (EDFA), and designed RF circuits for noise analysis.  For additional information, please see my curriculum vitae.
