Bio

Avery Watts Witt is a native of Hanceville, Alabama and joined the faculty as an Adjunct Professor of Music at the University of North Alabama in 2019. She teaches Fundamentals of Music, Clarinet Ensemble, Applied Clarinet, and Sight Singing & Ear Training at UNA and is also an active private clarinet teacher at the secondary level in the Shoals area. Ms. Witt earned a BSEd in Music Education (P-12) with an emphasis in Instrumental Music, and a Master of Arts in Education with an emphasis in Instrumental Music from the University of North Alabama.

Ms. Witt has served as an adjudicator for the Alabama All-State District III Band, Alabama All-State Orchestra, and the Shoals Area Honor Band. She is an active performer with her faculty clarinet quartet, in Shoals Community Band, and the Shoals Symphony Orchestra. Ms. Witt is a member of the National Association for Music Education, Alabama Music Educators Association, Phi Kappa Phi, International Clarinet Association, and a life member of Tau Beta Sigma. She resides in Tuscumbia, Alabama with her husband and daughter.
