Traditional Master's Degree Programs

Elementary Education offers a traditional master’s programs that leads to Alabama Professional Educator Certification in elementary education.

Entrance Exam: Passing score on the appropriate Praxis Subject Assessment(s).
Degree: Candidates must hold a bachelor's degree or higher from a regionally accredited institution.

Valid Certificate: A valid bachelor’s-level professional educator certificate in the same field in which the Class A Professional Educator Certificate is sought.

Elementary Education offers an Education Specialist degree program that leads to certification in elementary education.

Entrance Exam: Candidates must meet all testing requirements set forth by the Alabama State Department of Education.
Degree: Candidates must hold a master's level degree or higher from a regionally accredited institution.

Valid Certificate: A master's-level professional educator certificate in the same teaching field in which the Class AA Professional Educator Certificate is sought.
