UNA Psychology Department
Welcome to the UNA Psychology program. The mission of the psychology department is to provide students with a general understanding of factors related to behavior. Aside from a variety of courses touching on the historically important work in psychology, the department also strives to introduce students to new and relevant subfields in psychology, thus providing our psychology majors and minors with an opportunity to receive a comprehensive understanding of psychology at the undergraduate level.
The department houses four full time faculty members with expertise in both the applied and research fields of psychology with particular emphasis on Clinical Psychology, Applied Behavioral Analysis, Cognitive Psychology, and Social Psychology. There is a strong emphasis on research, critical thinking, and application of psychology to traditional settings such as education and mental health settings; however, we also strive to apply psychology to other areas such as public policy and industry.
Our alumni have been successful entering entry-level psychology related employment as well as Masters and Ph.D. level graduate school programs.
