Dr. Coffman is an Associate Professor of Chemistry at the University of North Alabama and the Director of the UNA Center for Sustainability.  She received her doctorate degree from The Ohio State University in 2006 focusing on Organic Chemistry and her undergraduate degree from Miami University in 1999.  Dr. Coffman’s research interest have included the synthesis and analysis of macromolecular dendritic structures which exhibit secondary phase changes in response to environmental factors.  Additionally, she is the co-author of three patents involving the removal of contaminants from used petroleum distillates and has earned a Professional Certification in Campus Sustainability and Leadership from the University of Vermont.

Dr. Melissa M. Moore-Driskell is an Assistant Professor of Geology and Assistant Director of the University Honors Program. She teaches classes in Physical Geology, Earth Science, Earth Resources, Geophysics, Seismology, and Tectonics. Dr. Driskell is currently conducting NSF funded research along the subduction zone of Alaska. Though academically trained as a geologist and geophysicist, she has many interest in sustainability studies, particularly conservation of earth resources, alternative energies, and climate change.

Dr. Mario Mighty is an Assistant Professor of Geography at the University of North Alabama. A native of Jamaica, he has a strong interest in sustainable agriculture, geographic information systems (GIS), economic development and the impacts of globalization on small island developing states. These interests express themselves through his work on enhancing the economic sustainability of agriculture in small islands and exploring the role of GIS in enhancing long term decision making.

Andrea N. Hunt is an Assistant Professor of Sociology. Her teaching and research focuses on diverse families, race and ethnicity, gender, and social justice. She is particularly interested in sustainable food sources and how this affects families in low-income areas.

Gary Padgett is an Assistant Professor of Education at the University of North Alabama. His interest in sustainability is in the analysis and creation of relationships between not only people, but also between people and the natural world. His goal is to help create a healthy, sustainable world by raising awareness of the interconnectedness of all things.

Dhrumil Patel is an Assistant Professor of Interior Design at the University of North Alabama. Dhrumil has worked on varities of design projects from large scale project like medical facilities design, office complex design, education institution design to small scale projects like retial design, commercial design, and residential design. His research interest is focused on Sustainability in Architecture, Planning, and Design and Human Computer Interaction. Dhrumil's recent research sustainability includes a study of sustainable dwelling units created by indigenous culture around the globe.
