Student Feedback

SGA is charged with making student feedback known to the administration. We are interested in any and every student concern. If we cannot help with your concern, we can connect you to someone who can.

The Officers Are In

The SGA Officers hold weekly office hours. Officer offices are located inside the SGA Chambers right next to the Student Engagement Center on the ground floor of the GUC.

About Us

The Student Government Association (SGA) is the students' representation to the administration. Every member of SGA is a student advocate. We strive to ensure student welfare across campus.

SGA is responsible for the Student Allocation Funds and distributes over $100,000 to registered student organizations.

At-Large Elections

SGA facilitates Homecoming Court elections every year and student body at-large elections and referendums.

SGA President's Message

2021-2022 SGA President
Jake Statom

Welcome to the University of North Alabama Student Government Association! If you are interested in becoming involved in SGA, then you have found the right place! On behalf of SGA, we are glad you are interested. We cannot operate without the students. SGA is for the students, by the students. We operate as the voice for the students of UNA, the ROAR of the lions.

SGA participates in the decision-making process of the University by protecting, defending, and advocating for the student body. We operate through three branches, the Executive, Legislative, and Judicial. The Executive branch, to which I belong, oversees SGA as a whole. The Legislative branch is comprised of the SGA Student Senate, which works to bring change to the university for the betterment of the students. The Judicial branch is the home of the Student Court, which interprets the laws and actions taken inside of SGA.

If you are interested in becoming involved, check out the rest of our website and our social media! We would also love to have you at our weekly Senate meetings at 3:30 on Thursdays!! We welcome and encourage anyone and everyone to come and participate! Only Senators can vote, but we would greatly appreciate any student input or feedback! If there is anything I can do for you, then please do not hesitate to reach out through my email (  or )
