Campus Update from Dr. Kimberly Greenway - March 31, 2020

Dear University of North Alabama Students,

I hope you are doing well and had a good spring break, while appropriately social distancing to keep yourself and others safe. I am writing to make you aware that the University announced on March 30th it will continue the remote/online instructional environment throughout all summer sessions.

Please know that decisions being made during this unprecedented time are made with great care and in the best interest of students, the campus community, and with consideration of Governor Ivey’s recently enhanced health order and other recommendations from national and local health agencies.  The safety, health, and well-being of the UNA family and our local community, and your continued success as students, is our highest priority.

Please also be assured that the services you need are still available via remote delivery, and when necessary, through personal interaction that is within the guidelines set forth by Governor Ivey’s order.  Academic and other support services are still available to students through telecommunication and other technology formats.  Faculty and staff are available to meet with students virtually.

All student services are being transitioned online to offer support during the time we aren’t able to meet together.  Some of the services that are available remotely include:  career planning, résumé review, mock interviews, student organization meetings, health services, and student counseling services.  There are even fitness classes being offered remotely!  Specific information about these services and more are available on the Student Affairs website at

Additionally, the University bookstore has modified hours and virtual options as well - free online shipping offers, access to eBooks at no additional charge, free access to Lumen Learning OER courseware, and free shipping on rental returns and deadline extensions. Visit the bookstore website at and click on the COVID-19 link.

Stay engaged with us while you are temporarily away from campus.  I look forward to being able to resume face-to-face interactions soon.  In the meantime, UNA is still here to support you!
