Study Abroad - 2015

In the summer of 2015, the Department of Psychology collaborated on the development of a cross-disciplinary (e.g., exercise science, nutrition, culinary arts, etc.) study abroad trip to Peru focusing on health promotion. Supported by a $25,000 grant from President Obama’s signature education initiative, the 100,000 Strong in the Americas Initiative, as well as the Office of International Affairs, Center for Global Engagement, and Office of Sponsored Programs, 13 psychology students had the opportunity to gain valuable international experience while conducting research on behavioral interventions to decrease obesity.

The research conducted by our students while in Peru resulted in presentations at local, regional, and international conferences!
