What are you doing now?

I am preparing to enter my first year at Ole Miss in the Counseling Education program in Tupelo, Mississippi.

How did UNA’s Psychology program help you achieve what you have become?

UNA's Psychology undergraduate program is not for the uncommitted; in my opinion, it is one of the best programs in the South. I was tested, challenged, sharpened, and made into a better student and scholar because of the courses and professors I had. They pushed me to be my best and reach my potential. I would not have been prepared to enter my Master's program had I not received the guidance that the UNA Psychology department provided.

What advice would you give students who are interested in becoming UNA Psychology majors?

Don't dream too small! Commit yourself, and you can reach any goal you set. Your professors are there for you and they want to see you succeed as much as you do. It may not be easy, but it will be worth it. Get involved early! Don't want until your junior year. Getting yourself out of your comfort zone will be one of the best decisions you can make. I highly recommend getting involved in Psi Chi and running for office in organizations. Sharpen your leadership and delegation skills; sometimes these matter more than your GPA in order to get into graduate programs.
