Brittany Clifford

Update: Brittany has moved back to Alabama and is employed as a substance abuse therapist at Riverbend Center in Florence.

What are you doing now?

I am currently working in Philadelphia, PA as an Adult Crisis Worker after recently getting my M.A. in Couples and Family Therapy from Drexel University.

How did UNA,s Psychology program help you achieve what you have become?

UNA's Psychology Department helped me achieve where I am in two ways. The first was it gave me a fantastic education that I did not truly appreciate until I was in my Master's program at Drexel and had a better understanding of certain theories and research aspects that was not expected of me. The second way it helped was by having such a supportive and encouraging set of professors that helped me push to apply for graduate schools when I may not have had the faith in myself to do it without them.

What advice would you give students who are interested in becoming UNA Psychology majors?

Anyone interested in becoming a Psychology major at UNA: Do it! There may be some classes that you do not think you'll like (and you may not) but there will likely be other classes you'll love so much more. It won't be the easiest thing, but if you work hard to get in and work hard in the program it is worth it for the education, professors, and support you will get; which, will also make college ten times better. As someone who didn't have that experience globally throughout my education, and who has spoken with people who didn't have that experience at all, I can really say that UNA's Psychology Department is special.
