Summer Hall Application

Summer Hall Application

All current residents have access to our summer hall application, but you must be enrolled in at least one course (3 hours) per each session you request an assignment. Applications may be submitted through your Residence account and additional instructions on completing an application can be found HERE. Please note, you are not required to pay an application fee if you currently resided on campus for the 2016-2017 academic year. We will begin accepting applications on February 1, 2017.

Summer Hall Dates

Check-In:

Current residents will move from their current assignments to summer hall on May 15th. You will come to the Rice Hall office between 10am-4pm and retrieve your new key. You will have 24 hours to move your belongings and return to the Rice Hall office (during business hours) to have an RA assist in finalizing your check-out process. 

New/Incoming residents may check in for Term I during business hours (10am-4pm) between Monday, May 15th-June 5th (Monday-Thursday Only). 

New/Incoming residents may check-in for Term II during business hours on Thursday, June 29th

Check Out:

Summer hall will close for Term I students at 4pm on Thursday, June 29th. Please see summer hall closedown section for details. 

Summer hall will close for Term II/Full Term students at 6pm on Monday, July 31st. Please see summer hall closedown section for details. 

Summer Hall 2017 Rates

Double Occupancy Option 1: May 15th-June 29th / $470       Single Occupancy Option 1: May 15th-June 29th / $700

Summer Hall Closedown

Mattielou Summer Hall will close at 6pm on Monday, July 31st. Any resident not remaining on campus for the 2017-2018 academic year must be officially checked out by this time. Please see the below instructions for additional information. 

Moving to Fall Assignment:

Each RA in Mattielou has been provided a list of when your fall assignment will be cleaned and prepared, but all rooms will be ready by Friday, August 4th at the very latest. Residents that have been approved to move to their fall assignment must take the following steps. 

1. Come to the Housing & Residence Life office in Rice Hall and pick up a key to your new room. This may be done during business hours beginning at 12pm (noon) on Thursday, July 27th. If your new room is ready then you may begin moving.

2. Complete all check-out tasks (remove all personal belongings, cleaning, replacing furniture, trash removal, etc.) that are listed on your door. 

3. Once you have moved all belongings and completed all check-out tasks, you will return to the Housing & Residence Life office in Rice Hall during business hours or call the RA on Duty outside of business hours and have an RA officially check you out. This includes returning your summer hall key, completing your Room Condition Report, and acknowledging any damages that have occurred. 

Moving Off Campus

1. Complete all check-out tasks (remove all personal belongings, cleaning, replacing furniture, trash removal, etc.) that are listed on your door. 

2. Once you have moved all belongings and completed all check-out tasks, you will return to the Housing & Residence Life office in Rice Hall during business hours or call the RA on Duty outside of business hours and have an RA officially check you out. This includes returning your summer hall key, completing your Room Condition Report, and acknowledging any damages that have occurred. 

Important Information

1. If you do not return your summer hall key you will be charged a $35 lock change fee.

2. If you do not officially check out of your room with a Housing & Residence Life staff member you will be charged a $150 unofficial check-out fee.

3. If you do not properly clean your room or replace the furniture you will be charged a cleaning fee as determined by the condition of your room. $200 is the average fee.  

4. Any resident that did not complete the check-in portion of the Room Condition Report upon moving into summer hall will be held responsible for the current condition of the room. Any damages or changes will be determined by the HRL staff member and charged to the assigned resident. 

5. Please remove all bicycles from Mattielou by Monday, July 31st at 6pm.
