Message from Dean Donna Lefort

March 30, 2015

The College of Education and Human Sciences at the University of North Alabama places a high priority on supporting our candidates’ professional development and advancement, collaborating with our constituents to continuously improve our programs, and demonstrating accountability. In 2006 we adopted LiveText as the assessment management system that would enable us to focus on those priorities. Over the years, feedback from candidates, faculty, and constituents assisted us in exploring other assessment management systems, and I am pleased to inform you that we have purchased and will be implementing the Tk20 assessment management system with the start of the Fall 2015 semester.

As we begin the transition to Tk20, look for more detailed information to support candidates, faculty, and staff at our Tk20 website located at We have also established to assist students, faculty, and staff who may have questions or need additional information about the transition from Livetext to Tk20. You may also contact Dr. Katie Kinney, Director of Assessment and Tk20 Unit Administrator, at 256.765.4623 for any questions or concerns about the transition and implementation process.

Thank you so much for your feedback and support of the evaluation and adoption process. We believe Tk20 is the best assessment management system to support not only our candidates, but meaningful data for program improvement and accountability efforts, as well. As you engage with Tk20 and begin to understand its potential and benefits, we feel confident that you will find the benefits of this system will far outweigh the costs.
