Melissa Tucker Medlin joined UNA in July 2008, after spending nearly 18 years as a student (MA, 1996 and BA, 1994) and student affairs professional at The University of Alabama. Melissa says being the Director of the Career Center is her dream job—she loves being at UNA, working with the students and faculty and having the opportunity to develop a very important resource area for students. “I am excited to have the opportunity to work directly with students as they make their choices about careers and work while also developing my own skills as a Student Affairs Administrator. I consider it an honor to assist students in recognizing their true potential and the many skills which they possess that will contribute to them being successful," says Medlin. She and her husband, James Medlin, have two children, Tucker and Heather and all are excited to be a part of the UNA community.

John Gurley, Assistant Director / WORC Grant Manager / COB & ACONHP

John Gurley joined UNA in December 2019 as the coordinator for the Department of Labor WORC grant which strives to enhance the local workforce through the continuing education of students in the business and nursing fields.  Prior to joining UNA, John was employed with the federal government, taught as an adjunct instructor at several colleges, and served as a facilitator for the PEACE program through Safeplace.   John's educational background includes a M.A. in Rehabilitation Counseling along with a Ph.D. in Counselor Education.  John has a passion for helping others and enjoys working with college students to identify educational goals and career opportunities.   John is a native of the Shoals area where he resides with his wife, Dana, and two children.  John is excited to be working in the Career Center at UNA where he can have a positive impact in the lives of students.

Natalie Morrow, Career Consultant / COAS & COEHS

Natalie Morrow joined UNA in August 2017 as Manager, Employer Relations and Experiential Learning. She earned her bachelor's and master's degrees from The University of Alabama, where she developed a passion for working with college students. Although they grew up in Tuscaloosa, Natalie and her husband, Adam, have a deep love and respect for the Shoals and are excited to call it home. She looks forward to using her passion, skills, and abilities to serve and support the students at UNA.website

Allie Mills, Career Advisor / Exploratory & 1st year students

Allie recently joined the Career Center as Career Advisor. Before moving to the Shoals area, Allie worked for seven years at the University of West Alabama in career and academic advising, where she also obtained a BS in English and an MA in Student Affairs in Higher Education. Allie and her husband Casey, along with daughter Amelia Jean, are excited to be in the Shoals. Allie looks forward to using her skills and experience to guide UNA students as they pursue their goals.

Kay

Kay Wammack, Senior Administrative Assistant

Kay Wammack joined UNA in February 2009, as Sr. Administrative Assistant. She graduated with a B.S. from Samford University and worked in the insurance industry in Birmingham before moving to the Shoals area. Kay and her husband, Chip, have two children, Paul and Rachel. Kay appreciates the opportunity to help students realize their potential and begin the journey toward achieving their life goals.
