Abroms and Associates Master of Accountancy (MAcc)

Develop the leadership and decision-making skills needed for a successful accounting career in our Abroms and Associates Master of Accountancy (MAcc) program. This high-quality program at North Alabama will also prepare you for professional certification—our graduates have some of the highest pass rates in the state of Alabama on the CPA and CFE exams.

The Abroms and Associates MAcc is a 30-semester-hour graduate program is designed to provide you with the professional skills and business knowledge essential for success in contemporary professional accounting and business careers. Most states, including Alabama, require 150 semester hours of education before you can be licensed as a CPA. Our MAcc program provides the remaining courses required for the CPA exam for students who have the equivalent of a bachelor's degree in accounting.

By earning your Master of Accountancy, you gain professional skills and business knowledge essential for success and advancing in professional accounting position. This could include, but is not limited to, positions in financial analysis, forensic accountancy, auditing, and managerial accountancy and includes job titles such as Corporate Controller or Chief Financial Officer (CFO).

Admission Requirements

  • No GMAT Required.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, but does not require the degree to be in accounting. 
  • GPA of 2.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale, OR 3.0 GPA in the last 30 hours of undergraduate course work.
  • At least three years of demonstrated responsibility in professional or entrepreneurial positions, OR membership in either of the two honor societies: Beta Gamma Sigma OR Beta Alpha Psi.

Professional or entrepreneurial experience refers to positions that often require a bachelor’s degree AND involve common business-related functions (e.g., marketing, finance, accounting, etc.). Clerical and administrative duties are typically not considered professional/entrepreneurial.

Tuition and Scholarships

Tuition and Fees: 
  • Online: $495 per credit hour + fees 
  • On Campus: $495 per credit hour + fees. UNA in-state MAcc tuition includes counties in Mississippi and Tennessee that are within 50 miles of campus. 

Scholarships:

  • New Start Scholarship- New students enrolled in any graduate program (online or on-campus) will automatically qualify to receive a waived application fee and a free first course when enrolled in two or more courses.
  • Alumni Scholarship- We are proud to offer all qualifying UNA graduates a scholarship covering 15% of their tuition, applicable toward the cost of a graduate program, either online or on campus.
