Department of Music & Theatre
Drew Perkins is so happy to be doing his first show with UNA’s Summer Theatre. However, this is his seventeenth production of Hank Williams: Lost Highway. He has acted in and provided musical direction for numerous productions, including Hank Williams: Lost Highway, Fair and Tender Ladies, Smoke on the Mountain, Always Patsy Cline, Keep on the Sunnyside, Sanders Family Christmas, Cotton Patch Gospel, and Smoke on the Mountain Homecoming.
Perkins toured nationally with the productions It Ain't Nothin' but the Blues and Honky Tonk Angels, and with the late, great Minnie Pearl. He has written music commissions for The Alabama Shakespeare Theatre’s production of Truman Capote’s Holiday Memories and The Barter Theatre’s 2012 production of Swamp Gas and Shallow Feelings. He would like to dedicate his performance to the original “Pap” in New York City, Mike Moran.
