MBA Degree Programs

UNA offers two MBA Options: Traditional and Executive. Both options require completion of 34 credit hours of graduate coursework after all prerequisites for the program have been met.

The Traditional MBA is designed for both young and seasoned professionals who want to focus on a specific area of study. The Executive MBA is designed specifically for professionals who have at least six to eight years of business experience and desire to develop the management skills and knowledge that will advance their careers. This program focuses on professional development and mentoring, and includes an applied capstone project where students can apply what they have learned in an actual business setting.

Traditional MBA

Core Requirements: The Traditional MBA has 25 hours in the core requirements. All courses are 3-credit hours except for MG601 which is a 1-credit hour course. The Traditional MBA core requirements are as follows:

  • MG 601 - MBA Skills and Outcomes - is offered only online and must be completed during the first semester of enrollment.
  • AC 626 - Cost for Management Decision Analysis
  • CIS 625 - Enterprise Systems Analysis and Design
  • EC 650 - Managerial Economics
  • FI 630 - Financial Management
  • MK 660 - Marketing Strategy
  • QM 670 – Decision Theory
  • MG 624 - Organizational Behavior
  • MG 640 - Management Policy

Concentrations: Eight concentrations are offered in this program. Each concentration requires three 3-credit hour courses (9 hours total) to be completed in the related subject matter. Concentrations are as follows:

MBA Executive Concentration

Core Requirements: The MBA Executive Concentration has 19 hours in the core requirements. All courses are 3-credit hours except forEMB601 which is a 1-credit hour course. The Executive MBA core requirements are as follows:

  • EMB 601 - MBA Skills and Outcomes (1-credit hour) is offered only online and must be completed during the first semester of enrollment.
  • AC 626 - Cost for Management Decision Analysis
  • CIS 625 - Enterprise Systems Analysis and Design
  • FI 630 - Financial Management
  • MK 660 - Marketing Strategy
  • MG 624 - Organizational Behavior

Executive Option Prescribed Electives: The following courses consisting of a total of 15 credit hours must be taken to complete the Executive MBA. 
  • EMB 680 - Career Management and Professional Development (1 semester hour)
  • EMB 602 - Management Mentoring (1 semester hour)
  • EMB 603 - Corporate Governance (1 semester hour)
  • EMB 604 - Legal, Social Ethical Environment of Global Business (3 semester hours)
  • EMB 605 - International Business Dynamics (3 semester hours)
  • EMB 651 - Special Topics (examples: Corporate Entrepreneurship; Strategic Human Resource Management; Economics of International Trade) (3 semester hours)
  • EMB 698 - MBA Capstone Project (3 semester hours)
