Management and Marketing - Majors

Professional Management Major

The Professional Management Major is a 24 hour degree program consisting of eight 3-hour courses. All Professional Management majors must take the following five 3-hour courses and then may select one of the four concentration options (see below) which consist of three 3-hour courses.

There are four concentration options that a student may select from:
1. Human Resource Management

  • MG 340 - Negotiation and Conflict Resolution
  • MG 462 - Performance Appraisals and Compensation
  • MG 471 - Employment Relations

2. Entrepreneurship 
  • MK 395 - Entrepreneurial Marketing
  • MK 487 - E-Marketing
  • MG 494 - Entrepreneurial Business Plan Writing

3. Hospitality Management 
  • MG 345 - Hotel Management and Operations
  • MG 350 - Hospitality Accounting and Finance
  • MK 455 - Hospitality and Tourism Marketing

4. General Management
  • Student may select any three 300/400 level business courses, two which must be MG courses.

Marketing Major

The Marketing Major is a 24 hour degree program consisting of eight 3-hour courses. All students must take the prescribed six 3-hour courses and then must take two 3-hour elective courses at the 300/400 level. The student can take two 3-hour Marketing elective or take one 3-hour Marketing elective and one 3-hour 300/400 level business elective of their choice.
